The student will: |
During assessment, the student shall, at a minimum: |
Fight a paint locker fire using foam
- assess the situation and make an appropriate plan of attack
- set up a foam line
- attack and extinguish a Class B fire
- secure and clean up the foam line

as part of a team or individually,
- sound proper alarm prior to fire attack
- order necessary system shutdowns and notifications
- deploy additional fire parties as required
- display the proper use of all P.P.E
- displays proper procedures for rehab, hydration and cool down
- communicate effectively with others, including shore-side personnel
- rescue, remove, and treat casualties, if any
- demonstrate correct technique
- successfully extinguish fire

Fight a paint locker fire using dry chemical
- assess the situation and make an appropriate plan of attack
- attack and extinguish a simulated 50 square foot Class B spill fire with a 20 lb dry chemical extinguisher
- restore the extinguisher to a serviceable condition

- deploy additional fire parties as required
- display the proper use of all P.P.E
