Performance requirement

Behavior Standard
The student will: During assessment, the student shall, at a minimum:

trace out and describe a piping system specified by the assessor.

describe

  1. the purpose of the system traced;
  2. the location of the valves to be used to normally start and shutdown the system;
  3. the location of the valves to be used in the event of an emergency shutdown of the system, including emergency shutdown devices;
  4. manual operation of each type of valve in that system, both locally and remotely operated;
  5. manual operation of any in-tank measuring devices;
  6. probable location of any leakage, what form that leakage may take, onboard notification procedures, and what precautions are to be followed;
  7. any topping off procedures that are followed; and
  8. any stripping procedures that are followed.
