The student will: |
During assessment, the student shall, at a minimum: |
trace out and describe a piping system specified by the assessor.

describe
- the purpose of the system traced;
- the location of the valves to be used to normally start and shutdown the system;
- the location of the valves to be used in the event of an emergency shutdown of the system, including emergency shutdown devices;
- manual operation of each type of valve in that system, both locally and remotely operated;
- manual operation of any in-tank measuring devices;
- probable location of any leakage, what form that leakage may take, onboard notification procedures, and what precautions are to be followed;
- any topping off procedures that are followed; and
- any stripping procedures that are followed.
